The Classic Crime

The Test

by The Classic Crime
The Classic Crime

Biography:

The Classic Crime is a Seattle-based alternative rock band. They released their Tooth & Nail debut album, 'Albatross', in 2006. It marked the fastest first-week sales for a new artist in the history of T&N. The band members are Matt MacDonald (vocals), Justin DuQue (guitar), Robert "Cheeze" Negrin (guitar), Alan Clark (bass), and Paul "Skip" Erickson (drums).

While touring in support of their full-length album Albatross, the band created the Acoustic EP: Seattle Sessions, which was simply a compilation of songs they created while on the road.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Tuning is a half step down like most of their songs. The song sounds more complex
but these are the basic chords. I didn't include the guitar 2 intro part.

Chords:
C Am G D A Em
0 x 3 x 5 0
3 0 2 x 7 2
2 2 0 0 7 2
0 2 0 2 6 0
3 1 3 3 5 0
3 0 3 2 5 0

C Am
All I can see is as far as my headlights can show me.
C Am
And all of the roads look the same in each state that I drove in.
C G
As I grip the wheel, and I drift away wishing,
C G
I could wake up just a second too late so that,
C G A
I could see Heaven and I'd get a taste,
D
Then I'd just keep going

C G
So here’s to the promise of glamorous living,
C G
You must drink up now, cause it's all that you're getting
C G A
If you haven't been tested, you certainly will,
C D G
And I promise it's going to kill.

C Am
All I can think of is how much I'd kill to be sleeping.
C Am
I'm squinting my eyes, my minds drifting to secrets I'm keeping.
C G
And the long haling trucks are all parked in their stops,
C G
Just like luminous ghost to something that once was.
C G A
The rigs look so empty when framed by their lies,
D
And that’s how I'm feeling..

C G
So here’s to the promise of glamorous living,
C G
You must drink up now, cause it's all that you're getting
C G A
If you haven't been tested, you certainly will,
C D G
And I promise it's going to kill.

Am
It's all at their expense,
Em
If this is real, I'm a fake.
Am
At least I feel important,
Em
I won't lie, I lie to get paid.

C - D - G

C G
So here’s to the promise of glamorous living,
C G
You must drink up now, cause it's all that you're getting
C G A
If you haven't been tested, you certainly will,
C D G
And I promise it's going to kill.

(Yeah!)
