Supertramp

Goodbye Stranger

by Supertramp
Supertramp

Biography:

Supertramp are a British group playing a mix of progressive rock and pop rock that notably had a series of top-selling albums in the 70s, producing several hit singles. The band was formed in the United Kingdom in 1969. All the group's members were musicians capable of playing multiple types of instruments, including brass and woodwinds. Co-founder, composer and lead singer, Roger Hodgson left the band in 1983 to bring up his children. In 1988, Supertramp re-formed with some former members plus several new ones, and they continue to tour.

Supertramp - GOODBYE STRANGER
--------------------------------
I managed to fit it on two A4 pages with very narrow borders in
Courier New 12pt, after i deleted all the empty lines.
The '(1/2 bar)' always refers to the bar just BEFORE it. I suggest
highlighting it together with its chord, either coloured or bold.
PLEASE RATE!

[Intro]
G G G G

[Verse 1]
G (1/2 bar) Gdim7 C/G G G
It was an early morning yesterday I was up before the dawn
G (1/2 bar) Gdim7 C/G G G
And I really have enjoyed my stay But I must be moving on

[Bridge 1]
G7/F Em7
Like a king without a castle Like a queen without a throne

I'm an early morning lover And I must be moving on

[Verse 2]
G G G (1/2 bar) Gdim7 C/G G G
Now I believe in what you say, Is the undisputed truth
G (1/2 bar) Gdim7 C/G G G
But I have to have things my own way, To keep me in my youth

[Bridge 2]
G7/F Em7
Like a ship without an anchor Like a slave without a chain
C Am7
Just the thought of those sweet ladies, Sends a shiver through my veins
G G7/F
And I will go on shining Shining like brand new
C Am7 Am7 (1/2 bar)
I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few

[Chorus 1]

Now sweet devotion is not for me
Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane
C Am D7
Just give me motion to set me free
Will we ever meet again?
G G7/F
In the land and the ocean far away,
Feel no sorrow, feel no shame
C Am D7
It's the life I've chosen, every day
Come tomorrow, feel no pain
