A
I rode my bike along the tow-path
F#m
Past all the cranes that bow their heads
C#m
Down by the river to the gas works
Em
Where I would meet up with my friends
A
We'd mess around and play all summer
F#m
Around our flats and on the streets
C#m
In days that seemed to last forever
D
And nights beneath my nylon sheets
G F Bb
I was young and naive
Eb D
and drifted around
G F Bb
But I followed my dreams
Eb D Eb D Eb D Eb D C
With music I found life Sunny Sunny Sunny

A
My growing up would not be easy
F#m
Going for long walks on the heath
C#m
Trying to play like Jimi Hendrix
Em
Behind my back and with my teeth
A
I went to festivals and dropped out
F#m
That's when I learned that I could fly
C#m
Sitting around an open fire
D
Watching the world go floating by
G F Bb
With my ear to the ground
Eb D
The future took ages
G F Bb
When it finally arrived
Eb D Eb D Eb D Eb D C
The world we created was Sunny Sunny Sunny

Ab/C Bb/D
My mother watched me changing
C/E E/F#
From a boy into a man
Dm/F Ammaj7
With spots and moods and temper tantrums,
Am D#dim
short attention span
G
It didn't seem to matter
Bb/D
It made me who I am

A
I got a job down at the warehouse
F#m
I worked so hard to pay the rent
C#m
Rehearsing almost every evening
Em
Trying to take another step
A
Along the road that I had chosen
F#m
The generations game of life
C#m
Today I'm walking by the river
D
Watching my children cycle by
G F Bb
We came up through the pubs
Eb D
That heaved with our friends
G F Bb
Now it's coffee in mugs
Eb D Eb D Eb D Eb D
While out on the Thames it's Sunny Sunny Sunny
Eb D Eb D Eb D C
Sunny Sunny Sunny
