Turin Brakes

New Star

by Turin Brakes
Turin Brakes

Biography:

Turin Brakes are a modern folk pop duo comprising two friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, hailing from Balham, London, signed to Cooking Vinyl.

Turin Brakes have often been compared to many of the New Acoustic Movement's bands spawned in the late 90's such as Elbow, Starsailor, I Am Kloot (who were a support band for Turin Brakes on their Ether Song tour) and the Norwegian band the Kings of Convenience.

Their debut album "The Optimist LP" (2001) was nominated for the Mercury Prize that same year.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Note:
For the A chord, from what I can hear / can see from live videos he uses:
X-12-11-9-10-9 fingering.
I personally find that too hard so do: X-O-O-9-10-9 at the end of a verse then X-
O-11-9-10-9 at the start. Sounds about right, have a play and decide for yourself.
