The Pipettes

Biography:

The Pipettes was a British indie pop girl group formed in 2003 in Brighton. The band ceased in 2011.

Gwenno and Ani Saunders were singers in the group with Gwenno occasionally taking to the keyboard.

The Pipettes, at that time consisting of Julia Clark-Lowes, Rose Elinor Dougall, and Becki Stephens and their backing band, The Cassette, formed at a seaside party in Brighton in 2003 and entertained audiences with their trademark polka dot dresses, doowop anthems and choreographed hand movements.

INTRO

C - F - G - F

VERSE 1

C
He said we could talk about gossip,

F G
We could talk about lies.

C
He said we could talk about rumours,

F G
We could do whatever I like

C
Then he said let’s stop with all the talking,

F G
why not try something new?

C
Because there’s no need for any talking,

F G
In what we’re about to do:

CHORUS

Em Dm C
Rest your pretty head, your pretty head.

Em Dm C
Don’t trouble your pretty head, your pretty head.

VERSE 2

C
You know I’m all for conversation

F G
I’m really quite a romantic, you know

C
But why not get right to the point

F G
It’s not that often we’re left alone

C
No offense but when you get going,

F G
You really can be quite a bore

C
Now please don’t take this the wrong way,

F G
But my ears are getting sore

CHORUS

Em Dm C
Rest your pretty head, your pretty head.

Em Dm C
Don’t trouble your pretty head, your pretty head.

Em Dm C
Rest your pretty head, your pretty head.

Em Dm C
Don’t trouble your pretty head, your pretty head.
