Biography:
Kayak es un grupo de rock progresivo holandés, nacido de los restos de High Tide Formation. El sonido de sus primeros trabajos estaba marcado por los contrastes compositivos entre el teclista Ton Scherpenzeel y el batería Pim Koopman, así como por la voz de Max Werner.
Conforme creció la calidad musical del grupo, creció también su éxito, alcanzando su máxima popularidad con el lanzamamiento, en 1979, del single Ruthless Queen.
Kayak se separó en 1981, después de sacar Merlin, un álbum semi-conceptual.
