[Verse 1]
C G/C C C7
I’ve got diamonds in my backyard they grow just like weeds
F D7
You’ll come and gather them in bundles, take all that you need
C G E7 F
But save the flowers they’re for me dear, take the diamonds for your greed
C G C
Because the flowers don’t grow like weeds

[Verse 2]
C G/C C C7
Glory, glory…Hallelujah, I’m lost and she’s found
F D7
Another lover, to give her shelter when the fields have turned brown
C G E7 F
Another kind man, to warm her when the snow finds the ground
C G C
The only girl, that made the world go round

[Verse 3]
C G/C C C7
There are some thing worth remembering, Others left for time
F D7
to come and weather and to change in the winds of your mind
C G E7 F
But don’t forget me while your leaving, just remember my rhyme
C G C
Because it’s all that love borrowed from time

[Verse 4]
C G/C C C7
Now It’s Sunday, early evening, I rise for the day
F D7
And brush a long hair from the pillow on my bed where she would lay
C G E7 F
And in the back yard forgotten flowers all fading away
C G C
To bloom in other lover’s back yards someday

C G C
To bloom in other lover’s back yards someday
