Jarrod Birmingham

Nothing To Prove

by Jarrod Birmingham
Jarrod Birmingham

Biography:

Jarrod Birmingham released his latest album "Jesus & Johnny Cash" in August, 2010.

He has been compared to Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams, Jr. and producer Eric Paul described the country traditionalist as “the first real singer of the 21st century.” Humbled by the accolades, Birmingham attributes his pure and gritty musical style to his true grit life style.

“I believe that country music should reflect the common people,” says Birmingham.

[Verse]
D G D A
I don't care, what you think about me, I've heard it all before, and I still believe
D G D A
I believe in me, I believe in you, I believe that what you say, outta be what you do
D G D A
I don't believe, hanging around taking up space, talking out loud, ain't got nothing to say
D G D A D
So I'll speak the truth, I'll speak my mind, walk through the valley, looking for a mountain to climb

[Verse]
D G D A
But I'm tired, God I'm tired, carrying the torch, burned by the fire
D G D A D
I want to lay my burden down, hand it off to you, and wake up in the morning with Nothing To Prove
D G D A
Sometimes I wonder, I'll blame it on myself, crying out loud, I can't even cry for help
D G D A
World keeps turning, but I'll stand my ground, I never was a one, to spin round & round & round & round

[Verse]
D G D A
But I'm tired, God I'm tired, carrying the torch, burned by the fire
D G D A D
I want to lay my burden down, hand it off to you, and wake up in the morning with Nothing To Prove
D G D A
But I'm tired, God I'm tired, talking to myself, preaching to the choir
D G D A D
I want to lay my burden down, hand it off to you, and wake up in the morning with Nothing To Prove
D G D A D
I want to lay my burden down, that's all I want to do, and wake up in the morning with Nothing To Prove
