[Intro]
G C D G C D G C D

[Verse 1]
G C D
Fare thee well, gentle maid, I'll see you on your way
G Em Am Am/F#
And the sun will rise tomorrow and wash my sins away
G C D
For I know that I've abused you, but I only had a day
G Em Am Am/F#
And I know that's why you left me, in your own sad little way
G D
I am gone, disappeared
G C Em/B Am Am/F# G C D
But I hear a young dove crying three thousand miles from here

[Verse 2]
G C D
Some would say you were a loser, 'cause you play a loser's game
G Em Am Am/F#
But then if I am a winner, why then am I so ashamed
G C D
If you hear a young dove crying, you'll know it's me to blame
G Em Am Am/F#
For I never got her number, I never knew her name
G D
Now she's gone, disappeared
G C Em/B Am Am/F# G
But I hear a young dove crying, three thousand miles from here
