The finger picked version shown neatly on the tabs here on UG is the best way to play this song, but here's
chords for those that like them.

After the Dsus2 the finger picking hits a C# note on the A string before going to a Cmaj7 pattern,
effectively a slow stepping between chords. So that's a Dsus2 with that C# note added which has several names,
Dsus2/C# makes most sense here.

Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
e|-0- e|-0- e|-0-
B|-3- B|-3- B|-0-
G|-2- G|-2- G|-0-
D|-0- D|-0- D|-2-
A|-x- A|-4- A|-3-
E|-x- E|-x- E|-x-

The lyrics I'm almost certain of except for "Safely unwounded". Hope doesn't make it easy!

Standard tuning, no capo.

Intro:
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7 Cmaj7 x2

Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
When I speak about it now
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
I put things to say to you
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
Maybe I've been dismayed
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
Maybe that's the truth

Bm C
We're like the roses
Bm C
Standing in the backyard
Bm C
There is no misery
Bm C
In the time we grew up wild

Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7 Cmaj7 x2

Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
When I look out the door
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
And know what it's there for
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
To leave or to come back
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7
Safe in the morning

Bm C
Safely unwounded
Bm C
Roaming too late
Bm C
Suddenly I fall dear
Bm C
In the time we grew up wild

Break:
Dsus2 Dsus2/C# Cmaj7 Cmaj7 x6

Bm C
And we're like the roses
Bm C
Standing in the backyard
Bm C
There is no misery
Bm C
In the time we grew up wild

Outro:
C
