In Alamogordo New Mexico just a few years ago

G7 C
While the nations of this world were at war

F
America's greatest men were working hard then

G7 C
On the things that had never been before

G7
When the Lord held out His mighty hand

C
So that others in this world might understand

F
That wars could never be and this world it must be free

G7 C
When they found the mighty mighty Atomic Power

F
They were at Los Alamos Oak Ridge and old Paso

G7 C
Working in a downpour of rain

F
In that zero hour seeking out some heavenly power

G7 C
While the Star Spangled Banner was being played

G7
When the Lord held out His mighty hand

C
So that others in this world might understand

F
That wars could never be and this world it must be free

G7 C
When they found the mighty mighty Atomic Power

F
Then a flash a rumbling roar out across the desert floor

G7 C
They had found the atomic power from above

F
Then God with His mighty hand showed the world it could not stand

G7 C
When they found the mighty mighty Atomic Power
