Capo 2nd fret.

Intro; [Dm] [C] [Dm] [Am] [C] [Dm]

[Dm] Gentlemen, it is my duty
to inform you of one beauty,
Though I'll [C] ask of you a favor
no' to [Am] seek her for a while;
For though I [Dm] know she is a creature
of character and feature,
And no [C] words can paint the [Am] picture
of the Queen of [C] old [Dm] Argyle.

Chorus:
And if [Dm] you could have seen her there,
boys, if you had just been there,
The [C] swan was in her movement,
and the [Am] marvel in her smile;
All the [Dm] roses in the garden,
they will bow and ask her pardon,
For not [C] one can match the [Am] beauty
of the Queen of [C] old [Dm] Argyle.

On that [Dm] evening that I mentioned,
I passed with light intention,
Through a [C] part of our dear country
known for [Am] beauty and for style,
In a place of [Dm] noble thinkers,
of scholars and great drinkers,
But [C] none could match the [Am] splendor
of the Queen of [C] all [Dm] Argyle.

Chorus:
And if [Dm] you could have seen her there,
boys, if you had just been there,
The [C] swan was in her movement,
and the [Am] marvel in her smile;
All the [Dm] roses in the garden,
they will bow and ask her pardon,
For not [C] one can match the [Am] beauty
of the Queen of [C] old [Dm] Argyle.

Now lads, [Dm] well I must leave you,
my intention's not to grieve you,
Nor [C] for need would I deceive you oh,
for I'll [Am] see you in a while;
Well I must [Dm] find some way to gain heart,
to court her and to tame her,
For [C] I fear my heart's in [Am] danger
from the Queen of [C] all [Dm] Argyle.

Chorus:
And if [Dm] you could have seen her there,
boys, if you had just been there,
The [C] swan was in her movement,
and the [Am] marvel in her smile;
All the [Dm] roses in the garden,
they will bow and ask her pardon,
For not [C] one can match the [Am] beauty
of the Queen of [C] old [Dm] Argyle.
