Eliza Gilkyson - World Without End

CAPO: 4th Fret

INTRO: F C Dm C F

C Dm
It's a world without end, that's what they told us
C F
Your last breath is not what it seems
C Dm
Forever amen, sounds like something they sold us
C F
To keep us enslaved to our dreams

Am Dm
So close yet so far, you never rest
C F
Everything you've invested is gone
Am Dm
You wish on a star, yeah you do your best
C F
'Cause you know in your chest it's all wrong

CHORUS:
C Dm
World without end, looking to find
Am C F
Something to believe in again
C Dm
World without end, travelling blind
Am C
Trying to pretend
F C Dm C F
It's a world without end

C Dm
Crown of creation, that's what they call us
C F
A vain declaration, I fear
C Dm
Bowed down to temptation, what will befall us
C F
When something so wicked draws near?

Am Dm
Beauty on trial, the jury is hung
C F
The vultures begin to descend
Am Dm
The coyotes smile, the damage is done
C F
There's nowhere to run to, my friend

CHORUS:
C Dm
World without end, looking to find
Am C F
Something to believe in again
C Dm
World without end, travelling blind
Am C
Trying to pretend
F
It's a world without end

INSTRUMENTAL: C Dm C F C Dm C F

Am Dm
And now here we stand, so blessed and cursed
C F
Looking back on the rivers we've crossed
Am Dm
Our lines in the sand, our fortunes reversed
C F
Wondering if it was worth what was lost

CHORUS:
C Dm
World without end, looking to find
Am C F
Something to believe in again
C Dm
World without end, travelling blind
Am Dm
Trying to pretend
Am C
It's a world without end
F
World without end

OUTRO: (## fade to end ##)
