Christopher Denny

Loving Her Was Easier

by Christopher Denny
Christopher Denny

Biography:

Christopher Denny (...) is the oldest twenty-two year old on the planet. He seems to have come of age sometime in the '30s or '40s, in the numberless dusty small towns and on the single-lane highways of the American interior, in the company of an itinerant cohort of men whose shoes were soled with cardboard but whose hearts were tender, and who were buoyed along in the margins of society by bad times and good love and the ability to turn all it into a song.

Waking in the morning to the feeling of her fingers on my skin

Wiping out the traces of the people and the places that I've been

Teaching me that yesterday was something I never thought of trying in my life

Talking of tomorrow and that money, love, and time we had to spend
G D G
Loving her was easier than anything I'll ever do again

C G
Coming close together with a feeling that I've never know before in my time
D C G
She ain't ashamed to be a woman or afraid to be a friend

I don't know the answer to the easy way she opened every door in my mind
G C G
But dreaming was as easy as believing it was never gonna end
G D G
And loving her was easier than anything I'll ever do again

C G
Coming close together with a feeling that I've never known before in my time
D C G
She ain't she ashamed to be a woman or afraid to be a friend
C G
I don't know the answer to the easy way she opened every door in my mind
