Casiotone for the Painfully Alone

Optimist Vs The Silent Alarm When The Saints Go Marching In

by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone

Biography:

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone (CFTPA) was the beats-and-keys solo project of singer, songwriter and Chicago resident, Owen Ashworth. Drawing heavy influence from traditional Americana as well as 80's synth pop and commercial hip hop, the music of CFTPA is a curious mix of austere character studies and playful electronic programming.

Intro: C

C
Oh there's skeletons of cigarettes and empty cans and bottles
Am
And we tear out of the parking lot, the engine at full throttle
C
You mapped a route with all right turns so lights don't get us caught
Am
We've got a mess of cash in duffel bags and every penny's hot

F
Well hallelujah
C
Well hallelujah
G F C
And we're laughing through the fear that we'll never make the clear
G F C
Oh and you've never looked so dear, it's the end of our career

C
We'll ditch the car in Wisconsin and hide out in the trees
Am
And I know a dude in Madison who owes some favors to me
C
With the money in the backseat, baby, we could buy a house
Am
And raise a little family on Shlitz and Mickey Mouse

F
Well hallelujah
C
Well hallelujah
G F C
And we're laughing through the fear that we'll never make the clear
G F C
Oh and you've never looked so dear, it's the end of our career

Outro: Follow the timing of the same chords as the song "When the Saints go
Marching In" but without the lyrics:

"C
Oh when the saints go marching in,
G
Oh when the saints go marching in,
C F
Lord, I want to be in that number
C G C
When the saints go marching in."
