by Brian McComas
Brian McComas

Biography:

McComas was born in Bethesda, Maryland; his family moved to Harrison, Arkansas when he was four years old. At age sixteen, he attended a Paul Overstreet concert; while at the concert, Overstreet gave McComas the address of his publishing company. Intro - Cadd9 - G - D-(Dsus/D) - Cadd9 - G - D-(Dsus/D)

(verse 1)
Cadd9 G D Dsus/D
I remeber standin there by the waterside,
Cadd9 G D Dsus/D
Radio's turned up not a bit of sleep all night,
Cadd9 G D Dsus/D
Knowin' I was right where I was suppose to be,
Cadd9 G D
Never felt so good inside, never felt so free,

(Chorus)
Cadd9 G D (Dsus/D)
When we laughed, like fools,
Cadd9 G D (Dsus/D)
When we lived like kings,
Cadd9 G D - Cadd9
When we broke, we broke all the rules,
G D
But it never really meant a thing,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,na,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,yea,

(verse 2)

A been so many years now since we saw those days,
And most of us have gone our separate ways,
Spent our lonely nights and had our days in the sun,
Sometimes it feels like that they've just begun,

(Chorus)

When we laughed, like fools,
When we lived like kings,
When we broke, we broke all the rules,
But it never really meant a thing,
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,na,
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,yea,
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,na,
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,yea,

(bridge)
Em Cadd9
Oh and if I could somehow,

Just go back there now,
G Cadd9-G
I would, again,
Em Cadd9
Cause in the best of times it,
- Am7
Never crosses your mind,
D
One day they might have to end,

(Chorus)
Cadd9 G D (Dsus/D)
When we laughed, like fools,
Cadd9 G D (Dsus/D)
When we lived like kings,
Cadd9 G D - Cadd9
When we broke, we broke all the rules,
G D
But it never really meant a thing,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,na,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,yea,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,na,
Cadd9 - G - D - (Dsus/D)
Na,na,na,na,na,na,na,yea,
