Jeff Buckley - I Know We Could Be So Happy Baby (If We Wanted To Be)

Verse 1

Em G Bm
There's no easy answer, none to blame or forgive.

Em G Bm
Two cripples dancing to the end we live.

Am7 G D/F#
I'm not with you, not of you. Not with you, not of you.

Em G Bm
You are soft and young to me. I am the ghost who comes and goes

Em G Bm
And I hope I'll catch you in the throws

Am7 G Bm
Of one last look at the wonder, One last look at the wonder.

Chorus

Em Dsus
Oh, God, I love you, and all the past we once knew

Em Dsus
Some other love becomes you, whatever else we come to

C Dsus D5/G#
I know we could be so happy, baby, if we wanted to be

Verse 2

Em G Bm Em
You are soft and young to me I am the ghost who comes and goes

G Bm
I'm hoping that I'll catch you in the throws

Am7 G D/F#
Of one last look at the joy that we've become.

Em G Bm
But there's no easy answer, none to blame or forgive.

Em G Bm
We were two cripples dancing, to the bitter end we live.

Am7 G Bm
I'm not with you, but of you. I'm not with you, but of you.

Chorus

Em Dsus
Oh, God, I loved you, and all the past we once knew

Em Dsus
Some other love becomes you, whatever else it comes to

C Dsus D5/G#
I know we could be so happy, baby if we wanted to be

Am7 Bm7
We had a birthplace in common

Am7 G D/F# D
We had separate beds and lives.

C Dsus D5/G#
I know we could be so happy, baby if we wanted to be

C Dsus D5/G#
I know we could be so happy, baby if we wanted to be
