Biography:
Henry Mancini (April 16, 1924 – June 14, 1994) was an Academy Award-winning American composer, conductor and arranger. He is remembered particularly for being a composer of film and television scores - his best-known works are the jazz-idiom theme to The Pink Panther film series and Moon River. Mancini won a record number of Grammy awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.

Moon River is a song composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics written by Johnny Mercer in 1961. It received
an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Mancini won the 1962 Grammy Award for Record of the Year and
Mercer the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. Mercer and Mancini wrote the song for Audrey Hepburn to
fit her vocal range. The song is the soundtrack of the legendary movie “Breakfast at Tiffany's”. The
song reached in late 1961 the number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
