Heather Nova / Glow Stars (1993) / Shell

[Verse 1]
Am
Look at me I'm smooth like a shell
E G
Put your head down, you can hear the ocean
Am
Hold my body, feel it roll
E G
So much inside and it's all been broken

[Pre-Chorus]
F G Am G
You know it's just one step out it could all be over
F G Am G
You know this could rip us out at the seams

[Chorus]
Am F G
I'm falling, it's all in your hands
Am
Don't let it wash away
F G
I'm aching, don't take it all away
Am
Breaking the shell again

[Verse 2]
Am
Look at me I'm out on the edge
E G
Put your hand here, see I'm bleeding
Am
I can't get it, get the light out
E G
I can't seem to tear out the feeling

[Pre-Chorus]
F G Am G
You know it's just one step out it could all be over
F G Am G
You know this could rip us out at the seams

[Chorus]
Am F G
I'm falling, it's all in your hands
Am
Don't let it wash away
F G
I'm aching, don't take it all away
Am
Breaking the shell again

[Instrumental]
Am E G (2x)

[Bridge]
Am
I am a box, I am a fish, I am a trail, I keep you warm
E
And I remember stripping down to meet the water, wading out
Am
to where the sky turns under
E
My insides smooth like a shell, like a shell

[Pre-Chorus]
F G Am G
You know it's just one step out it could all be over
F G Am G
You know this could rip us out at the seams

[Chorus]
Am F G
I'm falling, it's all in your hands
Am
Don't let it wash away
F G
I'm aching, don't take it all away
Am
Breaking the shell again

[Outro]
Am
Look at me I'm smooth like a shell
E G Am
Put your head in, hear the ocean roar
