Half Moon Run

Devil May Care

by Half Moon Run
Half Moon Run

Biography:

Half Moon Run is a band from Ottawa, Ontario and Comox, British Columbia. It was in a practice studio situated in Montreal’s Mile-End district, through the hardships of time constraints and flat-lined bank accounts, that the trio bonded and created their unique sound, fusing together the restless elements of indie, pop and folk with beautiful rhythmic harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a hint of warm electronica.

Armed with solid training and raw talent, they mix and combine their different musical backgrounds.

Half Moon Run - Devil May Care
Capo 7 (It also can be played with capo 2 and a +5 transposition, but it's not the easiest way)

[Intro] Am Am/E G G C C/E F

[Verse 1]

Am Am/E G G
You was always saying that the devil may care
C C/E F
That you're lost and can't be found
Dm G C F
But now you've got to thinking we'll drive the coast from town to town
Dm G F C
You keep trying to leave, but the car keeps breaking down

Am Am/E G G
You was always sleeping like the day before noon
C C/E F
cause you're living on another one's time
Dm G C F
Yet once again we let out at dawn to skip the warden's fine
Dm G F C
I said "isn't that like stealing?" You said "to steal is just to find"

[Chorus]

F C E7 Am
Ooh you like to get to where you can't turn back
G F
We should not be
C E7 Am
Oh I believe that does it for you
G F
But that does it for me

[Interlude] C F C F

[Verse 2]

Am Am/E G G
You was always saying that anything that happens
C C/E F
is no worse than anything else
Dm G C F
That every moment matters and that truth can be your wealth
Dm G F C
Yes every moment good or bad in and of itself

Am Am/E G G
You was always saying where you can't come from,
C C/E F
they was hard but they was right
Dm G C F
Then someone had an accident we said oh what a pitiful sight
Dm G F C
Said someone flipped a pickup truck and we heard that someone had died

[Chorus]

F C E7 Am
Ooh you like to get to where you can't turn back
G F
You should not be
C E7 Am
Oh I believe that does it for you
G F C
But that does it for me

F C E7 Am
Ooh you like to get to where you can't turn back
G F
You should not be
C E7 Am
Oh I believe that does it for you
G F
But that does it for me

[Outro] F Fm C F C
