A9
Three sleepless nights,
C#m
this isn't how its supposed to be.

But you are so good at
A9 C#m F#m
taking your time to get back to me.

C#m B
I will wait for you forever,
A F#m
if you would just ask me.
C#m B
I thought that I could change you
A F#m E (one down strum)
but you changed me.

A9
But it doesn't feel right,
C#m
holding someone else's hand.
A9
Together on phone lines
C#m F#m
and living at two opposite ends.

C#m
It scares me to think,
B A
that you could find takers other than me
F#m
and better than me.
C#m
But you're head is elsewhere,
B
and I’m talking enough for both of us.
A F#m
When will you see it's not so easy for me

C#m E
But You’re careless, and whispered,
A9
insulting, and bruising.
C#m E
And I thought that you said
A9
things were improving.
C#m E
These laces are untied,
A9
but my feet are still walking away.
(I fall from you eyes, your eyes I trusted, you said forever)

E C#m
I never thought that you could say these words.
A9
Is this really happening?
E C#m
I never thought that you could say these words.
(Don't say...)
A9
Is this really happening?
E C#m
I never thought that you could say these words.
(Don't say that we can...)
A9
Is this really happening?
E C#m
I never thought that you could say these words.
(Don't say that we can still be...)
A9
Is this really happening?
E C#m
I never thought that you could say these words.
A9
Is this really happening?
(Don't say that we can still be friends)

C#m
Erase my name from this page.
A F#m
How can you take all these days

(What is inside of me, what have I done?)
C#m E
and throw them away
(Is this the only way that you will notice me?)
A F#m C#m
as I sit here waiting for you (for you)
(Dead words for closed ears all this is sung for you)
A F#m
I stay up nights
(If you are still pretending this is what's right)
C#m E
until stars leave the sky
(Why cant you look at me can you only see?)
A F#m C#m (till end)
knowing what my dreams can take away
(Sides, your side, can take away)
Walk away from me.
This night is done
C#m B A
