Cherish The Ladies - Once in Royal David's City

CAPO: 2nd Fret

[Intro]
F C F G C F C G C

[Verse 1]
Am F C F G C
Once in royal David's city, stood a lowly cattle shed
Am F C F G C
Where a mother laid her baby in a manger for his bed
F C G C
Mary was that mother mild
F C G C
Jesus Christ her little child

[Verse 2]
Am F C F G C
He came down to earth from heaven, who is god and lord of all
Am F C F G C
And his shelter was a stable and his cradle was a stall
F C G C
With the poor and meek and lowly
F C G C
Lived on earth our saviour holy

[Verse 3]
Am F C F G C
And our eyes at last shall see him, through his own redeeming love
Am F C F G C
For that child so dear and gentle, is our lord in heaven above
F C G C
And he leads his children on
F C G C
To the place where he is gone

[Verse 4]
Am F C F G C
Not in that poor lowly stable, with the oxen standing by
Am F C F G C
We shall see him, but in heaven, set at god's right hand on high
F C G C
There his children gather round
F C G C
Bright like stars, they glow him round

[Outro]
F C G C
Mary was that mother mild
F C G C
Jesus Christ her little child
