Charlie Robison

Biography:

Charlie Robison (born September 1, 1964, Houston, Texas) is an American singer/songwriter, who was raised in Bandera, Texas. His brother is singer/songwriter Bruce Robison. His younger sister is singer/songwriter Robyn Ludwick.

Before going solo, Charlie Robison was in the bands Chaparral, Millionaire Playboys, and Two Hoots and a Holler. At one point, Robison was on Warner Brothers, but apparently did not see eye to eye about his musical career there and left to release some albums on his own.

D
Elevator operator
D D#dim E
Look at me and smile a weary smile
G
You know my face could easily decieve
A
The wisest of them all
D
Are you going to the penthouse
D D#dim E
Or the condo that lies just beyond the chapel doors
G A
He just smiled and softly told me no
D
I'm going to the bottom

[Chorus]
D B7
I'm going all the way down
E
To the bottom
G
So turn the music up real high
A D
And let the sweetest benedictine liquor flow
B7 E
No need to worry about tomorrow

Cause you're not here
G A
I'm going all the way down
D
To the bottom

D
Rainy streets, Wet memory
D D#dim E
Find a place inside to pass the time
G
The doug serves up my brandy and I drink
A
And pray your picture fades
D
You dressed in black
D
You turned your back
D#dim E
On the only heart that ever loved you so
G A
The bells rang on the day you died
D
I'm headin to the bottom

[Chorus]
D B7
I'm going all the way down
E
To the bottom
G
So turn the music up real high
A D
And let the sweetest benedictine liquor flow
B7 E
No need to worry about tomorrow

Cause you're not here
G A
I'm going all the way down
D
To the bottom

[Outro]
G A
I'm going all the way down
G A
I'm going all the way down
G A
I'm going all the way down
D
To the bottom
