Chadwick Stokes

Pine Needle Tea

by Chadwick Stokes
Chadwick Stokes

Biography:

It takes a certain type of musician to hop freight trains and barrel across the vastness of North America with his brother and cousin. Especially for an artist who, just years before, sold out Madison Square Garden for three consecutive nights. CHAD “CHADWICK” STOKES is anything but a typical rock star. So, there was the singer-guitarist for bands Dispatch and State Radio, wading across a river to escape the chasing railroad bulls and hanging in the different down and out jungles with other traveling folks.

Use Capo on 1st fret. Theres a picking Chad uses in the beginning in the end, I haven't really
figured out yet, but I guess it's just picking the D, G and B string.

G
I kind of like to do what we
G
I kind of like to do what we just did
D
Again the stars out, but fell away
G
Let’s go to the place where they all live

G
And they’re slinging arrows into the river now
G
And we are under water looking for leeks
D
But before we go deeper and disappear
G
We’ll suck in the night through hollow reeds

C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now
C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now

G
And we’ll climb the highest
G
Hill in this town
C
And from there we’ll see the sun and where it’s going
G
Yes from there we’ll have a good look around
D
And drink our pine needle tea
C G
Just wake me up before you leave

G
And I'll beg your pardon
G
For all the stupid shit I’ll do
C
And you’ll yell at me for nothing
G
And we’ll sleep the way young lovers do
D
And drink our pine needle tea
C G
just promise you’ll wake me up before you leave

C
And sun
C
please don’t slip away
C
we need to catch you
G C D
sinking down to feel what life is like

G
And we’ll run until our bodies are warm
G
Until I hear your galloping heart
G
Then we’ll stop and breathe in the bone
G
Drink it in like it’s our dragonfly young
D
Then we will turn around
D
Will turn around
G
And we’ll go where the black radish grows

C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now
C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now

G
I kind of like to do what we
G
I kind of like to do what we just did
D
Again the stars out, but fell away
G
Let’s go to the place where they all live

C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now
C Em
I don’t feel pain now
D G
I don’t feel pain now
