[Verse 1]
F C
Washed up on the low side
F C
The crock locker drained my eyes
Bb F C
You're so fine but you didn't know how
F C
Played like you've seen too much
F C
Spoke like you'd had enough
Bb F C
Callouses show we're both feeling it now

[Break]
F C F C F C F C

[Verse 2]
F C
Baby, I said myself
F C
There's nothing the dark would shelve
Bb F C
That's okay 'til the money runs out
F C
You kill me with empathy
F C
Crave solidarity
Bb F C
And that's fine but you don't sing out

[Chorus]
F C
And I know you won't remember
Bb F
The time we took on your broken face
F C
I'll get so, so little effort
Bb
But I know that you're there
F
'Cause you're making it hurt

[Break]
F C F C Bb F C
F C F C Bb F C

[Verse 3]

Baby, I said before
F C
It's all that I'm searching for

Now we're together, we need never grow old

And someday the needs will change
F C
And we'll slip beyond the range
Bb F C
It's our day, tomorrow is already sold

[Chorus]
F C
And I know you won't remember
Bb F
The time we took on your broken face
F C
I'll get so, so little effort
Bb
But I know that you're there

'Cause you're making it hurt
