Em7 A6/9 (4x)

Em7 Bm
As I bask in the glow of a just-lit fire
Em7 Bm7
feeling the warmth as the flame grows higher
Em7 A6/9 Dmaj7
I think it's true that nothing is really new under the sun
Bm7 E7
watching a new love grow from old love's embers
Bm7 E7
yesterday's gone but today remembers
Em7/B A7sus4 Dmaj7 Asus4 Gmaj7
doesn't it seem to come down the same for everyone?

D A11 D A11
Only love is real, everything else illusion
D F#m7/C# F#m7 Bm E7 A Dmaj7
adding to the confusion of the way we connive at being alive
Gmaj7 Em7 F#m7 F#7
tracing a line till we can define

the thing that allows us to feel
Dmaj7 A11 Dmaj7 A11
only love is real, only love is real.

Childhood dreams like muddy waters

flowing through me to my son and daughters

everything I ever thought is confirmed as truth to me

even as I see the way that I want to go now
Bm7 E7
still I wish I had known twhat I know now

maybe I could have spared you giving your youth to me.

D A11 D A11
Only love is real, everything else illusion
