INTRO: A

#1.
A
I work all day as a soda jerk..on my feet all the time

and oh, man, how they hurt.
D A
Don't make much, but I sure get the news..I don't have

much time for gettin' the blues.
D A
My friends drop in for sodas and pop, they're all talking,

fancy about a new record hop.

#2.
D A
All day long I'm a-fillin' orders..takin' in nickels, dimes

and quarters.
D A
Cherry sodas and a chocolate shake, strawberry sundaes and a

lemon phosphate.
E A
Time to clean the fountain, 'cause it's almost five..you know me,

dad, after five I jive.

CHORUS:
A
I wanna jive, uh-huh-huh-huh, I wanna jive..ooo-hooo-hooo-hooo,
D A
I wanna jive, yes, after five.
E A
uh-huh-ho-ho, I wanna jive, man alive, after five.

#3.
A
Well, I mop the floor and I wipe the counter..I just work here dad,

I'm not the founder.
D A
I keep a-workin' and a-watchin' the clock..a-peepin' out the window

for my baby to stop.
E A
We'll head out of town to a little night dive..because you know me dad,

after five I jive.

#4.
A A7
All day long I'm a-fillin' orders..takin' in nickels, dimes and quarters.
D A
Cherry cokes and a tall root beer, a cone of vanilla with a chocolate spill.
E A
Time to clean the fountain, 'cause it's almost five..you know me dad, after

five I jive..I wanna jive.

CHORUS:
A
I wanna jive, I wanna jive, ooo-hooo-hooo and then I jive.
E A
Yeah, I wanna jive, yes, man alive..come on, now, cat, let's jive.
A D
Everybody rock, I wanna jive..ah-ah-ah, I wanna jive..ooh-ooh-ooh, I wanna jive.
