You Saved My Soul – Burton Cummings

[Verse 1]
A Bm7
We went together for so long
E D A
Every second record on the radio seemed like our song
Bm7
How we hurt each other; oh baby it was so wrong
E A
Something in the bottom of my heart will keep me holding on

[Chorus]
A E F#m
'Cause you saved my soul
Bm E
You came along and took me out of the night time
A E F#m
Yeah you saved my soul
D E D C#m Bm
Taught me to fly-y-y-y ...and I gave my heart
E F#m
And babe that's something that there's just no returning
D E A
'Cause if I have you now I'll never have to make it alone.

[Verse 2]
A Bm7
We were lovers in the young and strong and bold days
E D A
Turned them into treasures, turned ‘em into gold days
Bm7
Even though we're older, there’s still nothing like the old days
E A
Something in the bottom of my heart will keep me holding on.

[Chorus x2]
D E A
Yes if I have you now I'll never have to make it alone
D E D C#m Bm A
Yes if I have you now I'll never have to make it alone.
