Intro C D G Em x2

G D Bm C
Carry on inside of your heart
G D Bm C
Under the brine you won't notice the dark
G D Bm
Can stone and steel and horses heels
C
Ever explain the way you feel?
G D
From Scapa Flow to Rotherhithe,
Bm C
I felt the lapping of an ebbing tide

G D Bm C C

C D
Oh the heavy water how it enfolds
G Em
The salt, the spray, the gorgeous undertow
C D
Always, always, always the sea
G Em
Brilliantine mortality

C D G Em

G D Bm C
So irrigate your heart until you know you're complete
G D Bm C
And you're draped in kelp, below by 8,000 feet
G D Bm
My soul, she cried, I thought you'd died
C G
Amid fumes of formaldehyde
D Bm
You have been gone for so long
C G D
I felt the lapping of an ebbing tide
Bm C
I felt the lapping of an ebbing tide
C D
Oh the heavy water how it enfolds
G Em
The salt, the spray, the gorgeous undertow
C D
Always, always, always the sea
G Em
Brilliantine mortality

C D G Em x2
C D Em A

C D G Em
When this Corpus Christic isle became a land of ocean blue
C D
Again, she cried, you turned my eye,
G Em
At mentions of, no matter why,
C D
And in the end, an August sun,
G Em
And one by one we blew
C D
Until the devil screamed in the evermore
G Em
In envy of the grace we saw
C D
Oh the heavy water how it enfolds
G Em
The salt, the spray, the gorgeous undertow
C D
Always, always, always the sea
G Em
Brilliantine mortality
C D
Oh the heavy water how it enfolds
G Em
The salt, the spray, the gorgeous undertow
C D
Always, always, always the sea
G Em
Brilliantine mortality
