Cold War Kids

Robbers

by Cold War Kids
Cold War Kids

Biography:

Formed in 2004, the band's breakthrough debut Robbers & Cowards was released to considerable acclaim in 2006. The darker Loyalty To Loyalty followed two years later, and 2011's Mine Is Yours introduced deeper anthemic qualities to the eclectic group's catalog.

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, which features the rollicking, energetic single "Miracle Mile," is Cold War Kids' first release with former Modest Mouse and Murder City Devils guitarist Dann Gallucci, who also handled its production alongside Lars Stalfors.

INTRO - drums

E A E

VERSE 1

A
Sulkin'
E
walkin' 'round the city after dark
A
need protection from street thugs

who clip the tires
E
and rip the doors off rugs

and cowards

CHORUS

A
and all this life we've glorified

robbin' from the blind
E
it's not easy you see
A
don't think I don't know sympathy

my victims in my shadow
E
starin' back at me

VERSE2

A
not me I'm knockin

tip toe outside a stranger's door
E
casually let myself in
A
fill pockets with
E
trinkets purses china antique armoirs

CHORUS

A
and all this life we've glorified

robbin' from the blind
E
it's not easy you see
A
don't think I don't know sympathy

my victims in my shadow
E
starin' back at me

A
as robbers in my thoughts

they tell me what to think
E
they're hiding in my clothes
A
crawling in the kitchen sink
