I try to figure out the chords to all Brett Dennen's songs that are not yet here.
This one is cool and surprisingly it's more than easy to play! 3 main chords throughout the song.

C G
I believe that you were born
C G
during an eclipse
C D
and the stars named you moon child
G C G C
then you come, you rise in to my sky
G C D
you stepped in front of my sun and it makes the whole world dark
C G
and you light up the night
C G
just like the moon
C G D
just like the moon you light up the night
C G C G
and sometimes, sometimes I only get a sliver of ya
C G D G
but I'm hopin', I'm hopin' for a full moon tonight

C G C
laid back and I'm restless in the daytime
G C D
and I'm chased by these shadows oh thats taunting me
G C G C
and then you come with nighttimes woolly blanket
G C D
and you wrap me like a child who's been in the rain too long

and you light up the night
just like the moon
just like the moon you light up the night
and sometimes, sometimes I only get a sliver of ya
but I'm hopin', I'm hopin' for a full moon tonight
F G
oh I've chased the moon, ya know I've tried
C G
and each time I've tried, each time I've failed
C G
and each time I get so down on myself
C G
and I can't stand this pace of a snail
C G Am D
while the rest of the world pales all the night
C G C G
ya know I
C G C G
know that I can probably never be the same

'cause you light up the night
just like the moon
just like the moon you light up the night
and sometimes, sometimes I only get a sliver of ya
but I'm hopin', I'm hopin' for a full moon tonight

G C
and in the night
G C G
I can feel your lovelight shining bright
C D
falling down on me like autumn leaves
G C
And in the night
G C G
I can see you shining bright
C D
tell me how am i supposed to fall asleep

G C
and in the night
G C G
I can feel your lovelight shining bright
C D
falling down on me like autumn leaves
G C
And in the night
G C G
I can see you shining bright
C D
tell me how am i supposed to fall asleep
