Brent Cobb

Let The Rain Come Down

by Brent Cobb
Brent Cobb

Biography:

Brent Cobb (born in Americus, Georgia) is an American country music singer-songwriter.

If the love of music can follow a bloodline then you could say that writer & recording artist Brent Cobb was born to be a musician. In fact, so many members of Brent’s extended family have musical ability that he can’t really name them all. Music was not only in his blood, it was played and heard in his home as a child and in the homes of most of his relatives throughout his youth.

[Verse 1]
D
We all need rain, Lord, the sun sure stings
C/D G/B
Somebody string a rattle snake up
D
Good Lord my whole world ran dry
C/D G/B
The day that wicked ol’ witch said bye

[Chorus]
D (let ring)
She put a curse on me, one on the river
C/D G/B
Now my crops won’t grow no more
D
I’ve got a hollow heart, pocket full of nothing
C/D G/B
My soul wont rest and my eyes won’t pour
C/D G/B D
Let the rain come down

[Verse 2]
D
I should’ve been long gone, cold turkey
C/D G/B
Instead I’m sitting on the front porch stoned
D
Looking back now the past seems murky
C/D G/B
It ain’t no wonder why my moneys all gone

[Chorus]
D (let ring)
She put a curse on me, one on the river
C/D G/B
Now my crops won’t grow no more
D
I’ve got a hollow heart, pocket full of nothing
C/D G/B
My soul wont rest and my eyes won’t pour
C/D G/B D
Let the rain come down

[Bridge]
D D D D
Look yander to the west I can feel it in my bones
D D D D
Here comes a hard rain just a blacking out the sky
D D D
Id run for shelter if it was me
D D D D
Better pay heed to the past, or wind up dry

[Chorus] (x2)
D (let ring)
She put a curse on me, one on the river
C/D G/B
Now my crops won’t grow no more
D
I’ve got a hollow heart, pocket full of nothing
C/D G/B
My soul wont rest and my eyes won’t pour
C/D G/B D
Let the rain come down
