G C G
Once he lived like a king and he had everything

D7
All the world they say laid at his feet

G C G
Yet with all his wealth and fame he played that cheatin’ game

D7 G
And he wound up like a tramp on the street

C G
He went from a Rolls to the rail from a mansion to dirty jails

D7
From a penthouse to the jungle by the track

G C G
From champagne to cheap wine right down to his last dime

D7 G
And now all he owns is the cloths on his back

C G
He drove a big fancy car and he smoked big cigars

D7
Had everything that a man could own

G C G
But wild women and song soon his money was all gone

D7 G
And now he rides in a boxcar alone

C G
He went from a Rolls to the rail from a mansion to dirty jails

D7
From a penthouse to the jungle by the track

G C G
From champagne to cheap wine right down to his last dime

D7 G
And now all he owns is the cloths on his back
