Blind Pilot

Oviedo No Capo

by Blind Pilot
Blind Pilot

Biography:

Blind Pilot is an American indie folk band based in Portland, Oregon.

The band has performed on Carson Daly's show, opened arena shows in England and been selected as iTunes' Single of the Week. After a busy summer that included the Lollapalooza, Sasquatch!, and Outside Lands festivals and a high-profile slot opening for fellow Portlanders the Decemberists on select dates, Blind Pilot is embarking on a national headlining tour to support their magnanimous debut, 3 Rounds and a Sound, released last year on Expunged Records.

Oviedo - Blind Pilot

Intro
F A A# C F

Verse 1
F A
The thrill here is quicker than you'd think
A#
The way some jet-lagged bar kept pouring the wine
F C
From over their heads then sit back down again
F A
Four times is once too much for luck
A#
And that's how many times the clock struck
F C
I wandered home, saying your name

C* F C*

Verse 2
F A
The arches here were built 'cause they don't fall
A#
The cat dead drawls to make you feel small
F C
You might find your small soul
F A
Leave the preaching to the president

The crowd cheers, his eyes get wet
A#
I'm full as it is, I'm full as it is
F C
So don't feed me more

Chorus 1
A A# F C
You'll be having my head, big as a birthday
A A# F C
'Cause I left all my doubts on the airplane
C* F C
I didn't know, I didn't know I'm not in control
C* F
I didn't know, I'm not invincible

(Intro chords)

Verse 3
F A
And maybe some things are better left unsaid
A# F C
But if you wanted to test that, I will, yeah, I guess, I could've said
F A
But there were nights in bars that I recall
A#
Your breath was courage laced with alcohol
F C
You leaned in, you said,

Chorus 2
A A# F C
"Make music with the chatter in here,
A A# F C
And whisper all the notes in my ears."
C* F C
I didn't know, I didn't know the way of my tongue
C* F
I didn't know, I didn't know what I'd done

Break
C* A# F C* F A# C* F

Verse 4
(F) A
The lights here are softer than you'd think
A#
The dim lit peacocks in the trees,
F C
They're hiding their eyes and their beauty, like me
F A
But if my eyes were on my back
A#
I know what I'd be looking at
F C
Through every shade of brown and green

Outro
C* F C
I didn't know, I didn't know it was nothing new
C* F
I didn't know, I didn't know it was you
