[Verse 1]
A D B
I come up here from Waco on a U-Hault-It freight
A D B E
In my mind Tennessee to me was just another state
A D B
Now we're trying to get into how they're swinging on the gate
A D B E
I'm about to go down under from that hurry up and wait

[Chorus]
E A D B
Don't you roll me another one, don't try to mother me
A D B E
I know i can't see the forest but i think i feel the trees
A D B
Anyway, goin's where i guess i'm always gonna be
A D E7 A
I declare i feel like Texas when i'm uphere Tennessee

[Verse 2]
A D B
I done built myself a highway on this ceilin' in the hall
A D B E
Over yonder in the corner gettin' turned on by the wall
A D B
Come the mornin' that old dawnin' will be drinkin' up like me
A D B E
Ain't no holler log what i came off when i get up a tree

[Chorus]
E A D B
Don't you roll me another one, don't try to mother me
A D B E
I know i can't see the forest but i think i feel the trees
A D B
Anyway, goin's where i guess i'm always gonna be
A D E7 A
I declare i feel like Texas when i'm uphere Tennessee
