Billy Joe Royal (April 3, 1942 – October 6, 2015) was an American pop and country singer.

INTRO: A

#1.
A E A
Here we go round a-gain, masqueradin' as long

lost friends.
A
Cause a memory never dies, it kinda fades into
D
a lie, and, what da ya know?

CHORUS:
E A
Still waters run deep, old bridges burn slow.
E
Still waters run deep, now, baby, old bridges
A
burn slow.

#2.
A
Let's chalk it all up to our youth.

That's one way to hide from the truth.
A
I never asked you for a thing and if I had, you
E D
would have told me no.

CHORUS:
E A
Still waters run deep, old bridges burn slow.
E
Still waters run deep, now, baby, old bridges
A
burn slow.

BRIDGE:
D
And how many years did I chase after you..all my
G
mind would allow.
B
And now, I can't break off the past, and even if
E A
I knew how, ahhh, I wouldn't tell it to you, baby.

INTERLUDE: A Gbm A D E A

#3.
A
So, why don't we call it a day, I got nothin' else

left to say.

Cause a dream we both dreamt was just a last ditch
D
attempt to stop the flow.

CHORUS:
E A
Still waters run deep, old bridges burn slow.
E
Still waters run deep, now, baby, old bridges
A
burn slow.

OUTRO:
E A
Mmmmmmm-mmm-don't ya know they burn slow?
E
In a way, I know and I know, don't ya know they
A
burn slow?
E A
Still waters run deep, old bridges burn slow.
E
Ahhhhh, how they burn..(Fade.)

An Eighties smash from Kraziekhat.
