Capo 2

Verse 1:

D/A D/F# G
One to get my tongue loosened

D/A D/F# G
Two for a broken heart

D/A D/F# G
Three for all of that wreckage that we,

Em A7sus4
Left in the dark

D/A D/F# G
So, one more, yeah the neon's getting fuzzy

D/A D/F# G
Two, hey pal, can you help me find my keys?

D/A D/F# G
Three, if you could point me in the right direction,

Em A7sus4
Well I might get home again

D/A D/F# G
Well I'll tell you frankly what I think about it,

D/A D/F# G
From this bully pulpit barstool,

D/A D/F# G
And everybody's nodding but nobody's listening,

Em A7sus4
To, to this fool

Chorus:

D/G D/F# D/G D/F#
Fumbling for some loose pocket change,

D/G G/B G
To spend at a payphone in the rain,

Em G
To say I'm sorry a thousand times,

D/A D/F# G
Again

Verse 2:

Yeah your heart kid, seems to be open,
But round here, tonight it's closing time
And that lame-ass way you have of coping,
You can read between the lines
There is a very old saying,
Known by every boxer in the ring
You tell yourself whe your cut and bleeding,
You don't feel a thing

Chorus
