Nothing Like a Train
Words & Music: Bill Mallonee
Transcribed by Alec Liddle

Verse 1:

Fmaj7 C Am G
Well nothing like the rain to get you down

Fmaj7 C G
Darling nothing like a train, to take you far away

Fmaj7 C Am G
We're all leaving here without a sound

Fmaj7 C G
Honey, should've been gone yesterday

Fmaj7 C Am G
Was the diamonds I remember

Fmaj7 C G
Yeah right there in your eyes

Fmaj7 C Am G
Recaptured once again to see right through

Fmaj7 C G
Sweetness, Your camera never lies

Chorus:

C G Am Fmaj7
Nothing like the leaves around your front door,

C G Am Fmaj7
The Stages and the pages, yeah you've been in love before

C G Am Fmaj7
And the things, you feel inside your bones

C G Am Fmaj7
Those that won't leave you, those that won't leave you,

C G
Those that won't leave you alone

Verse 2:

You can map the lay of the land
Darling you can describe the sad terrain
Let us survey all the borders
Sugar don't it all still look the same, the same, the same
When you find there's nothing special,
About that great big old hole in your heart
'Cause everybody's got one,
With precious little time to talk about it

Chorus

Verse 3:

Here's another song for all you pilgrims
Yeah, another good old tune for Josh and Jo
Scrawl out a postcard from your own highway,
My God, where did our precious days go?

Chorus
