The verse is an arpeggiated chord progression of Gm, D#, and A#. The chords that are relative to
the capo on the 3rd fret in standard would be Em, C, and G.

These are the voicings of the chords I use:

Verse [Arpeggiated]
Em C
Beating the drum all night
G
Dancing naked around a fire
Em C
Leaving trouble behind
G
Swimming in the water
Em C
We found the tent with the flashlight
G
We were looking for a hideout
Em C
When you’re praying for no strings
G
Sometimes you get tied down

Chorus {Arpeggiated]

And I never thought that this would happen
Em C G
And you got all weird after the weekend
Em C G
Sometimes you make out with an old friend
Em C G
And I’m rounding first and I’m sliding into second

Verse [Arpeggiated]
Em C
She could never hold her tongue much
G
And when I bit her lip hard
Em C
Expecting some review like
G
2 out of 5 stars
Em C
But in a moment she revealed that
G
She was no different
Em C
We were just kid’s nervous breathing
G
Showing some forgiveness

Chorus [Chords Strummed]
Em C G
And I never thought that this would happen

Em
And if you don’t know

Then I don’t know
G
How these things go
G
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Verse [Palm-muted]
Em C
In your wooly socks and Birkenstocks
G
What would they say about us
Em C
At the hour of the evening
G
The night will carry on without us
Em C
But if we had to play one card
G
And say we both blacked out
Em C
And my friends seems to trust us
G
They believe this silly kinda of cop out
Let me tell you now

Chorus [Chords Strummed]
Em C G
And I never thought that this would happen
Em C G
And you got all weird after the weekend
Em C G
Sometimes you make out with an old friend
Em C G
