No Capo

Am F C G
You say come over, let’s have a little chat
Am F C G
And I say “Okay, I guess I’m fine with that”
Am F C G
But as we get to talking, I could go insane
Am F C G
You just kept speakin’ those words and it started to hurt my brain

Am F C G
One word after the other, no space for me to say
Am F C G
"Sorry but I’ve got to go we’ll talk another day"
Am F C G
Sitting there still tryin’ to smile but it seems impossible
Am F C
'Cause honestly I was getting

G Am F
Tired of words, words, words
C G
Don’t want ‘em anymore
Am F
Words, words, words
C G
How could I deal with them before?
Am F C G
It’s like they’ve taken over and there’s nowhere I can hide
Am F C G
What good do they bring? Never fixed anything
Am F C
So as you can see that’s why I’m not speaking
G
Words

Am F C G
Everywhere I go words are coming at me
Am F C G
From on the radio and on the T.V.
Am F C G
People stop to say “Hello” but that isn’t what I need
Am F C G
What I want from these words is to be free

Am F C G
One word after the other, no space for me to say
Am F C G
"I have to go and get some space, I’ve got to get away"
Am F C G
Sitting there impatiently trying not to cry
Am F C
'Cause honestly I was getting

G Am F
Tired of words, words, words
C G
Don’t want ‘em anymore
Am F
Words, words, words
C G
How could I deal with them before?
Am F C G
It’s like they’ve taken over and there’s nowhere I can hide
Am F C G
What good do they bring? Never fixed anything
Am F C G
So as you can see that’s why I’m not speaking

Am F C G
What’s the point of narrating life
Am F C G
'Cause you know that words will only hurt you inside
Am F C G
You make your promises and then you break them
Am F C G
Who says forgiveness can be written down with a pen
Am F C G
I hold your hand and try to let it go
Am F C G
But you keep on bringing back feelings and they show
Am F C G
Your light keeps dimming everything around
Am F C G
And the words I’m feeling, they can’t be found
Am F C G
To explain how I feel right now

Am F
Words, words, words
C G
Don’t want ‘em anymore
Am F
Words, words, words
C G
How could I deal with them before?
Am F C G
It’s like they’ve taken over and there’s nowhere I can hide
Am F C G
What good do they bring? Never fixed anything
Am F C
So as you can see that’s why I’m not speaking
