[Verse 1]
Em G D
Yes we go walking in that rubble
Em G D
Yes we go waking in that heat
Em G D
And we’re holding all the roses as we travel
Em G D
And we’re holding all the thorns as we reach

Em G D
Em G D

[Verse 2]
Em G D
Kids, I know kids I can see you falter
Em G D
You need to find out your own altars
Em G D
Cause it wasn’t good enough to hold your hand
Em G D
And it wasn’t good enough to make a stand

[Verse 3]
Em G D
What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger
Em G D
What doesn’t break us will make us last a little longer
Em G D
If it doesn’t set us free in the end
Em G D
Well it serves the ones who follow us my friend

[Bridge]
F#m C#m
So they have the riot rail
F#m A
So they have the barricade
F#m C#m
So they have the history
B A
That they love to make
F#m C#m
I want you to write this down
F#m A
I want you to carry it around
F#m C#m
Blessed are the ones you know
B A
Who walk this heavy road

Em G D

[Verse 4]
Em G D
Yes we go walking in that rubble
Em G D
Yes we go walking in that sun
Em G D
And our feet get tough enough to hold the travel
Em G D
And our hands get tough enough to hold the thorns

[Verse 5]
Em G D
What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger
Em G D
What doesn’t break us will make us last a little longer
Em G D
If it doesn’t set us free in the end
Em G D
Well it serves the ones who follow us my friend
