Biography:
Alvaro Carrillo Alarcón nació en Cacahuatepec, Oaxaca, el 2 de diciembre de 1921, sus padres fueron Jesús Carrillo y Teodora Alarcón. Sus años juveniles los pasó en Cacahuatepec, trabajando la tierra de sus padres.
En 1940 ingresó a la Escuela Nacional de Agricultura en Chapingo, donde tuvo oportunidad de leer un poco de literatura que lo estimuló a componer sus primeras canciones, surgiendo así Celia. Alvaro Carrillo contaba que cons sus compañeros de estudios
