Intro: Em(2 bars) C(2 bars) D(2 bars) Am(1 bar) B7(1 bar) x4

Em
Daddy I'm not going
to tell you that I'm sorry
C
There ain't nothing you
can do to change my mind
D
I'm not here to know the
things I can not do
Am
We've seen the outcome of
B7
the boys who didn't fly
Em
That road outside that
you've been taking home forever
C
that'll be the same road
I take when I depart
D
These charcoal veins that hold
this chosen land together
Am
may twist and turn but somewhere
B7
deep there is a heart

Chorus:
Em
Playing with Fire
You know you're going
C
to hurt somebody tonight
D
When you're out on a wire
Am B7
you know you're playing with fire

Verse 2:
Em
Perhaps this calling is
the channel of invention
C
I will not blush if others
see it as a crime
D
However dangerous the
road however distant
Am
These things won't compromise
B7
the will of the design
Em
Ten thousand demons hammer
down with every foot step
C
Ten thousand angels rush the
wind against my back
D
This church of mine may not
be recognized by steeple
Am
that doesn't mean that I
B7
will walk without a god

Refrain:
D
Rolling river of truth
can you spare me a sip
Em
The holy fountain of youth
has been reduced to a drip
C
I've got this burning belief
G
in salvation in love
C
This notion may be naive
G
but when push comes to shove
D/F# D
I will till this ground

Bridge:

You know you're gonna
C G C G
hurt somebody tonight
D--
Out on a wire

Verse 3:
C G/B
I might not get there
C
This little town
this little house
G/B
they seem to be leaning
Em Bm D
in the wrong direction
Am
I'm not afraid of you no more
