[Intro]
F C (x5)

[Verse 1]
F C F C
Well, I'm witnessing something I'd never have dreamed of even a couple of years ago
F C F C
Families screaming and running about, ringing their hands in the sky, singing

[Bridge]
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
Tell us it's a lie!

[Chorus]
C F C
We're running out, running out
G C
You know we're running out
C F C
We're running out, running out
G C
You know we're running out

[Verse 2]
F C F C
We are running out of hope, and we are running out of love
F C F C
And we're running out of everything that I've been dreaming of
F C F C
And we are running out of oil, we are low on light and air
F C F G
And we're running out and digging holes and finding nothing there

[Chorus]
C F C
It just ain't fair, running out
G C
You know we're running out
C F C
There's nothing there, running out
G C
You know we're running out

[Verse 3]
F C F C
Now, the car won't go, and the pool won't heat
F C
And we're eating beans 'cause there ain't no meat
F C
And the lamps which once lit up our street no longer light the way
F C F C
So we go to bed when the sun sinks low
F C F C
'Cause it's cold at night and the heat won't go
F C F C
And the television studio closed down the other day

[Chorus]
C F C
Hey, hey, hey, hey, running out
G C
You know we're running out
C F C
Hey, hey, hey, hey, running out
G C
You know we're running out

[Outro]
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
No, no, no, not our generation
F C
Tell us it's a lie!
