Alan Hull - Corporation Rock

CAPO: 2nd fret

[Intro]
G D G D C F D

[Chorus]
G D
Do the Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
Ain't no one gonna stop you babe, now you're in control
G D
Do the Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
You can take all the knocks, 'cause you got iron in your soul

[Verse 1]
G E7
When you was a baby, did you have it all planned?
C D
Did you map out your future, in the palm of your hand?
G E7
Make it with the music, get the people on their feet
C D
Dancing to the music, you're really feeling sweet

[Verse 2]
G E7
Then you make it on the scene and suck up to the press
C D
Cause a small sensation, let the mugs do the rest
G E7
Hung up on your ego, one, two, three, four, five
C D
Hit-records in a row, wow! now you really jive

[Verse 3]
G E7
You'd better form a company, big office in the town
C D
And when you pay them a visit, they really know you've been around
G E7
And in the big outside world, you're still a household name
C D
Like some kind of washing-up liquid, or maybe just a dozy football game

[Verse 4]
G E7
Hey, be a big sensation, a million in a crowd
C D
You used to be among them once, now you've really been around
G E7
So, corporate your music, 'cause it's not music anymore
C D
It's just the way that you used it, baby, and what you think it's for

[Chorus]
G D
Do the, do the Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
You can take all the knocks, you got iron in your soul
G D
Do the Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
No one's gonna stop it now, now you're in control

[Verse 5]
G E7
I was dancing at the Go-Go, good music on the stage
C D
Seemed such a long time ago, it feels like an age
G E7
Dancing to the magic, a brave new world ahead
C D
Don't think twice, it's alright, I heard somebody had said

[Verse 6]
G E7
So no one thought about it, until it was too late
C D
And now the gates of Eden, brothers and sisters, they're gonna have to wait
G E7
So, corporate your music, 'cause it's just muzak
C
It's just the way that you use it, abuse it
D
And what other people think it's all about

[Chorus]
G D
Corporation, Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
You can take all the knocks, 'cause you've got iron in your soul
G D
Do the Corporation Rock, do the, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
We know you're nobody's fool, you're nobody's fool

[Chorus]
G D
Do the Corporation Rock, do the Corporation Roll
C F D
But you gotta find yourself, sunshine, before you know who's your soul

[Outro] (## fade to end ##)
G D C F D
Do the, do the
G D C F D
Do it, do it

G D C F D G D C F D
