[Intro]
Am C F

[Verse 1]
C F Am
Ladies and gents, fold your tents, 'cause we have a winner
C F Am
Come see your Jane try to train every devil in her
C F Am
There's not a man alive who could tame this creature
C F Am
You better leave the professor behind, see what time will teach her

F G C F
And when we've all collected a spectacular sum
F G C F
We'll get a little glimpse of the disaster to come

[Chorus]
Am G
You can justify what happens then
C F
'Cause how could you have known
Am G
Leave the dust to dust and say "amen"
C F
Put "sorry" on the stone
Am Em
You're not not your brother's keeper, now
C F
Your brother's on his own
Am C F Am
That's how the seeds of avarice are sown

[Verse 2]
C F Am
Shit's just a trick and each week's full of compromises
C F Am
She'll push for a fish like a seal clapping for its prizes
C F Am
There's not a man alive who could wake this sleeper
C F Am
Oh, tie the rope, hide the dope, sure there's hope, but denial's cheaper

F G C F
And when we've all collected a spectacular sum
F G C F
We'll get a little glimpse of the disaster to come

[Chorus]
Am G
You can justify what happens then
C F
'Cause how could you have known
Am G
Leave the dust to dust and say "amen"
C F
Put "sorry" on the stone
Am Em
You're not not your brother's keeper, now
C F
Your brother's on his own
Am C F Am
That's how the seeds of avarice are sown

[Bridge]
(1 single strum per chord)

Em Em Am Am F C
And after the fail, you can wail as they drag the river
Em Am F C
Silence the band, wring the hand that you didn't give her
F C
And every man alive has to sign a waiver
F C F Am
To put a coin in the plate, so that fate won't return the favor

[Final Chorus]
(Back to normal strumming pattern)

Am G
You can justify, oh yes you can
C F
You've got the microphone
Am G
Tell them dust is dust and men are men
C F
And men all act alone
Am Em
You're not your brother's keeper, now
C F
Your brother's on his own
Am C F Am
That's how the seeds of avarice are sown
C F
How the seeds of avarice are sown

[Outro]
Am C F
F C
