2) Addie Pray, otherwise known as Bill Lincoln, was part of an American (LA/Texas) rock n roll group called Euphoria. In 1969, to little fanfare or label support, Capital Records released their explosive sole album, A Gift From Eurphoria. This disc is commonly referred to as one of the best LPs from the period - it’s that good.

Intro: E A x2

Verse 1:
E
Night becomes our
A
frail anticipation
of a Saturday’s
E A
pursuits And as the
E
snow falls on a Sunday
A
you and I fall into
E A
routines we’ve construed

Chorus 1:
D
And with each
change of pace
E A E A
I hide from you

Verse 2:
E
And on the precipice
of patience I half
A
heartedly accept
E A
your hesitance
E
And I tell myself
that I will never
A
let you in my head
E A
like this again

Chorus 2:
D
Then I accidentally
fell asleep
E A E A
in your bed

Verse 3:
E
The air is cold but
our backs are warm
A
as we race to forget
E A E
about the past So if
it makes you happy
A
we can both leave
this dumb party
E A
with someone else

Chorus 3:
D
But I’m hoping
you won’t bring
E A E A
her home tonight

Verse 4:
E
So we’ll keep on
pretending we’re
A
content with this
E F#m A
uncertainty we choose
E
And I’ll judge your
new girlfriend on
A
the content of her
E F#m A
heart and on her shoes

Chorus 4:
D
Well I think
that my thick
skin is
E A E A
wearing thin

Outro:
E
Endless spaces
stranger places
A
faces we don’t
recognize
E
We’ll sleep by
ourselves tonight
A
and dream about
our passive lies
E
Endless spaces
stranger places
A
faces we don’t
recognize
E
We’ll sleep by
ourselves tonight
A
and dream about
E(hold)
our passive lies
