Adam Brand - Come On Home

Capo 1

Intro: C F C F

C
I was walking down the Highway
Am
My thumb out in the air
F
I’d argued with my father
G
And thought he didn’t care
C
It was cold and I was angry
Am
As I cursed his name that day
F
When a car pulled up beside me
Am G
And I heard my father say

C Em
Come on home, come on home
F C
I can’t bear the thought of you
Am G
Out here on your own
F G
It doesn’t really matter
C F
Who was right or who was wrong
G
Tears in his eyes he said please son
C
Come on home

C
She heard me say it’s over
Am
I can’t do this anymore
F
Then I packed up my suitcase
G
And walked on out the door
C
A few days later from a phone booth
Am
I called and thru my pain
F
Said I know I don’t deserve it
Am G
But will you take me back again

C Em
Come on home, come on home
F C
I can’t bare the thought of you
Am G
Out there all alone
F G
It doesn’t really matter
C F
Who was right or who was wrong
G
Don’t say a word hang up the phone
C
Come on home

Solo: C Em F C Am G F G C F G C

F G
My Pop’s been gone a while now
C
And my Nan she’s grown old
F G C
And I was with her when she spoke her final words
F G
She firmly held my hand
C F
Then she gently let it go

As she left to be with Grandpa
Am G
I swore I thought I heard

C Em
Come on home, come on home
F C
Can’t bear the thought of you
Am G
Out there on your own
F G
I’ve been waiting for you
C F
And your time has finally come
G
Now you’ll never have to be alone
C
Come on home

Outro: C Em F G C
