[Intro]
C F Am x 2

[Verses]
C F Am
When you wake up in the morning are you lonely
C F Am
To find only the items I had left
C F Am
By your bedside on the table to your right hand
C F Am
Little traces are the proof that I exist

C F Am x 2

C F Am
Looking back now I can see your clear green eyes
C F Am
In that old shed with the string lights you reside
C F Am
With the swing set stuck above you in the rafters
C F Am
And the books and the records on each side
C F C
And the books and the records on each side

C Am
I knew I could grow to love him
C Am
But his walls came up too fast
C Am
I was strong in his presence
C Am
But he left me for the past
C Am
Now will he ever stop haunting me
C Am
Let me go
C Am C Am
My mind should lose their memories
C Am C Am
My mind should lose their memories
C Am C Am
I only remember the sweetest of these
C
Now I only remember the sweetest things

Hey!

C F Am x 2

C F Am
Keep her close now keep her happy keep her wanted
C F Am
Don't desert now the way that you did me
C F Am
Cook her breakfast share your music tell your secrets
C F Am
Give it all like you never plan to leave
C F Am
Did you plan to leave
C F C G
And I tell your friends it was easier then to give your heart away
C F C G
Before hope became broken and eager to love I gave it all with haste
C F C G
So if you're telling a story especially of heartache it better ring out true
C F C G
To pass down your bloodline and travel through song in an honest remembrance of you

C Am
Cause I knew I could grow to love him
C Am
But his walls came up too fast
C Am
I was so strong in his presence
C Am
But he left me for his past
C Am
Now will he ever stop haunting me
C Am
Let me go
C Am
Will he ever say goodbye to me
C Am C Am C Am
I've been on my oooooooooooooooooown

C Am x 2

C Am C Am
Ohhhh ohh-ohh-ohhhhhh oh-ohhhhhhhhhhh x

C F Am
So when you wake up in the morning are you lonely
C F Am
To find only the love that you had left
C F Am
By my bedside on the table to my left hand
C F Am C
Little traces are the proof that you exist
