Biography:

www.stackedlikepancakes.com

Stacked Like Pancakes (SLP) is a boisterous Baltimore-based brass-rock band.

Beginning in 2007, Stacked Like Pancakes was founded on an idolization of artists like Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, and Less Than Jake. Following the 2011 debut ska album We’re Not Insane, SLP and renaissance frontman-songwriter Kellen McKay began to develop an obsession with breaking genre boundaries. SLP has since proven to maintain a thick sonic texture through a synthesis of inspirations including Reel Big Fish

[Intro]

- use Higher F octave chord

F C Bb
Sometimes I wonder what would life be like
F C Bb
if I burned all of my money would I see the light?
F C
now I know that sounds absurd,
Bb F
but just take me word for word, line by line
C Bb
one verse at a time

[Verse 1]

F C Bb
Some people think that since they're born in wealth
C F C Bb
that they're entitled to entitle my wealth for themselves
C F C
They'll say, "we're the underprivileged class"
Bb C F
Well, you can kiss my ass, say goodbye
C Bb
I won't even try

[Chorus]
- Use the Lower F octave chord

F Gm Bb C F
Tell me what it's like, living 6-figures for life
Gm Bb C F
with a fancy car, and a fat cigar, and a top-shelf drink every night
Gm Bb C
Tell me what it's like
F Bb F
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song

[Verse 2]
- Arpeggiate all and use the higher F octave

F C Bb
Some people tell me I could be somebody
F C Bb
Nobody told me that you need some money,
F C Bb
if I don't have a job then what am I becoming?
F C Bb
Don't you know I'm only doing music for the money

F C Bb C
How come we pay people to misrepresent us?
F C Bb C
If the children are the future why the fuck are we in debt!?
F C Bb C
Student loans will make me sweat, and I can't afford my rent
F C Bb
And somehow I'm supposed to follow my dreams,
N.C.
"Yeah right, go fuck yourself"

[Chorus]
- Use the Lower F octave chord

F Gm Bb C F
Tell me what it's like, living 6-figures for life
Gm Bb C F
with a fancy car, and a fat cigar, and a top-shelf drink every night
Gm Bb C
Tell me what it's like
F Bb F
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song

[Interlude]
- Higher F octave, strumming.

F C
We're singing "Shit! Fuck! Dammit! Dammit!"
Bb C
We'll never understand it
F C Bb
I keep on catching yellow just before
C F
the red light, slam the breaks
C Bb
on my life again, It's too late
C
to start over and
F C Bb C
a "Dangerous Beginning" will inevitably end

[Interlude Part 2]
- Longer Strums
F
So I'll write a love song
C Bb
"Sharks in the Sky" felt so wrong
C F
and I'm just a guy with problems
C Bb (Hold)
but I need someone to sway with
F
to the rhythm and blues
C Bb
these brown leather shoes don't match my
C F
passion for writing new beats
C Bb C
that's why the whole world's laughing at me,

[Interlude Part 3]
- Held Strums
F
among other reasons, of course,
Bb
but of all the critics, I'm the worst
F
and I try to live by a single verse
Bb
"Rule #32", my friends, remember the little things
F
I'm a Renegade
Bb
and I break my own rules anyway
F
I'm on a Planetary escapade
Bb
to write crappy songs like "Pimp for a Day"

[Interlude Part 4]
- Back to part 1 style
F C
Still singing, "Shit! Fuck! Dammit! Dammit!"
Bb C
I'll never know why
F C Bb C
these are odd times to be alive
F C
we need a "Suburban Superhero,"
Bb C
but I'm just another zero
F C Bb
just like my money in the bank
C
cause money sucks and I need a break!

[Outro-Chorus]
F Gm Bb C F
Tell me what it's like, living 6-figures for life
Gm Bb C F
with a fancy car, and a fat cigar, and a top-shelf drink every night
Gm Bb C
Tell me what it's like
F C F
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song (Low Octave)
F C F
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song (High Octave)
F C F
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song (Low Octave)
F C
this is the Money Sucks sing-along song (Full Strum Lower octave)

End with this little, kind of uncomfortable riff:

e|-------------|
B|-------------|
G|-10----------|
D|-----10------|
A|---------9--|
E|-------------|
